Need some help with the best way to get to cooke city from Laurel montana. We want to trailer all the way to cooke city. should we come in from the west or east side of cooke city. We are from canada.
cant trailer all the way in from the east, got to park and ride the last 5 miles, from the west you can drive in, from laurel drive west to livingston and drive south to gardiner then on to cooke
Heading to Cooke in a couple weeks from Regina, SK. Also wondering what the options are... I don't need truck and trailer access in cooke city, so if I can shave off a bunch of driving time, by sledding the last 5 miles from the east that is awesome.
If you want to access from the East, what is the highway like to the parking lot? I don't mind sledding in, what is the trail/road like with the sleds? Any additional info would be appreciated....
we come in from the east. All i have to say is do it in the daytime if you can. Great scenary to have a look at . The road was good when we went. Alot of switchbacks and climbing . Make sure to take winterfront of truck to prevent from overheating. Have a blast.
