I wish they would find a new name for these relatively new little "ditch/road crossing rigs for running cables or sewer water pipe, gas/oil pipelines etc in your picture. Yes that is a big one, as ditch crosser go, running a similar size tool, but that kind of directional drilling compared to the photos at the beginning of this thread is totally something else.
The photos at the beginning of this thread are of "Directional Drilling" like is done in the "Drilling Industry" with a drilling rig. However these pics with the well path actually coming right out of the ground are of a very seldom type of job usually done for large river crossing for pipelines rather than oil and gas production.
Always alot of confusion when ditch crossers call themselves directional drillers.
