I know this should be in the AC section but more people come here. Just put a koso egt gauge on my '09 M1 this summer. Went on two quick runs for break in and the gauge worked fine. Now when I fire it up tonight the gauge only works when the sled is at an idle. As soon as I start giving it throttle the display shuts off like its getting too much voltage. I'm getting power from the accessory wire under the hood. I forget what color it is but it's the one with the dead plug in it. Any ideas? I'm heading out in the morning and would like to have this working. Thanks

you are right and it is over-voltaging. Mine did the same thing, installed handwarmers into the same circuit and no more issues. They say the gauge can handle up to 20 volts but that is BS, when i called Koso they gave me the "ground" story as well. When it goes blank if you look at the max readings it will say like 2000 degrees....LOL motor would be a puddle of metal.

If you are pulling from the accessory plug (black and yellow), you might have to put in a 12 V DC voltage regulator, or tap into another circuit like the tail light. These gauges don't need much voltage at all. I ran my Koso a/f gauge off a 9 V battery.
