i bought the mobius braces last season. They really slow me down and made it hard to ride. I went back to a hinged brace with out knee pads. Now I can dance the sled again. But if I land knee first on a running board it’s gonna hurt

And I'm the opposite. I have a set of mobius I use for motocross and started to use them sledding and find them comfortable. Best knee brace I've used, use to have Asterisks. After a couple times knees smashing off the sled I wear them every ride now.

Hey everyone, looking for advice.
I religiously wear knee braces all summer on my dirt bike, and I'd really like to do the same in the sledding season. I have worn them a few times, but they won't stay in position. They tend to slip down until they make contact with my boots, and are way out of position at this point. Does anyone have a solution / success with this?
My current braces are Leatt C-frames, and I'm wearing Motorist Alpha boots. My last setup I tried were EVS Web pro braces / Motorist Stomper 2 boots.

The problem, as I see it is that snow boots are much shorter than MX boots so the braces do not get "clamped" into place by the boot.
I've been wearing football knee braces for years and now a wear a bragg knee brace on one leg and a football brace on the other leg. I found the best thing I do is wear shorts and have the knee braces on bare skin and I haven't had a problem since.

Is there any places in Edmonton that sell knee braces like the Mobius or the EVS Axispro?
I'd like to try them on before buying.

Was told I need to wear braces for riding. I went to the Karl Hagar Limb and Brace place today. One custom brace is $1,755.00
A little out of my price range at the moment.
I'm looking for something that not only braces but protects against accidental impacts.

How’s your work health plan.

Might cover a lot of the custom brace,

If you’re looking for some hard shelled cheap easy to find guards I had really good luck with some Thor ones, like $20-30 they were literally like having nothing on but had a ‘shell’ on the shin and kneecap, just a thought if you’re need something quick
Ok cool I’ll look them up, thanks. Are they comfortable to ride in?

How do you swing that. Would I just get my doctor to write a script saying I need a brace?
Yup - that's the way it works with our plan. Some plans also have a Health care spending account (with an annual set $$ limit) that can be used for some items not covered by the primary plan such as this, extra chiropractic and massage services, eye glasses, etc.

You should have access through your plan to show you what you have, what you coverages are, what can be claimed, etc.

Sh!t just go with titanium knees like I did. Hahaha definitely no, wear knee braces and keep OEM as long as possible. Titanium are good and way less painful.

I just sent our work insurance an email questioning it.
I'm hoping it's good enough to cover a good portion

Ya definitely check into that, my work will pay for the whole thing if I have a doctors note I just found out, my knee brace is in need of a replacement I think, it’s 17 years old and was a custom built one sized to my leg and it is now out of adjustment , my leg has shrunk lots since tearing my acl and mcl and miniscus

Went down to Riverside Honda. Picked up a pair of Mobius X8's
Kept them on for a while in the store. Feel alright. Also bought a couple pairs of brace socks. I guess they are a silky thigh high sock goes between you and Brace.
Try it out Tomorrow when I go quadding.

I'm that goofy In-between size.
Size large fits 21" to 23"
Extra Large is 23" to I think 25"
They didn't have any XL to try. And I'm 23". So went with the Large and see what happens. They were tight with the 5mil pads. Swapped out to 2.5mils and they felt much better
