looking to buy some klim gear. I am just not sure what ones to buy. There is the Klimate but that could be too hot.

Right now I have a thin helly hansen base layer, cloumbia fleece pants and a north face polar tech pull over top that is fitted. so I really only have two layers. I am not sure if just a shell would be enough. some times I will ride at -20C but will also be out at 0C so not sure?

any help and possibly good place to buy it cheap...well cheaper

I have the Valdez jacket and the togowette pants you really have to wear two good layers when riding in cold weather but mountain riding one layer I think would be fine, then again I am a little portly and break a sweat easily when I am riding hard. I also have the powercross gloves really nice for the warmer days. I was really impressed with the Togwotee Glove I went for a ride at -25 and came home after night fall and hand didn't get cold. Hand warmers were still on high though.

Get the boots, I've found lots of jackets, bibs etc to compare to Klim but these boots are the best for sledding I've ever had.

Just picked up the Klimate bibs in MT and decent price, havent been to the mountains yet, but around home they seem great, dry and warm, I only wear thermal underwear under them...

Thanks already got the klim boots, and the coldwave gloves I have are doing me fine for now but will look at Klim when they are done. As for scott I will just stick with my goggles. I really want the klim.

What is a good layer for under the valdez and tow pant? Or go with the klimate

Poly/cotton base layer, Polar fleece mid layer and any of the Klim coats and bibs seems to work very well. Jacket and pants are vented if required, no worries about overheating. And in -20 to -30, seals up to keep body heat in, combination works very well. Their boots as you know are the best, best I've ever found. Don't have their gloves, but have some that work very well, in combination with the hand warmers. Klim also makes the underlayers, very expensive stuff, probably works well, other clothing works as well. Most of the guys I ride with have Klim, and swear by it. Stay away from bright colors, hard to keep clean.
Old saying, you get what you pay for, on sale or not,(rarely will you find it on sale) it is worth paying for.

I have some helly hansen under layer, klim mid, and togwatee outer layer. It is plenty warm in the mountains. Have worn it on the prairies and it keeps me good also. Couple guys have Klimate bibs and they don't wear the mid layer.

Not real close to you, but I just got my Klimate stuff in Kalispell and they had lots of inventory and sizes, pricing was good. If you are planning to go south at all, wait and look down there.
