Klim Gear Care and Waterproofing

Myself and Sledbunnyracing spent a good hour at the show with the Klim rep discussing care and waterproofing of Klim gear. To keep this short, first read the label, due too contrary belief it can and should be washed more often than not.(my understanding at least every 3rd weekend ) Gortex fiber work best clean. Washed in the washer with about half as much soap as a regular load and dried in the dryer at medium heat or hang too dry . If you find that it leaks, this is the product that you should use as I just treated my towagatee bibs , will certainly update this after some deep pow days ! It works on all vortex including motorfist!

Last off-season I had contacted klim about my gear leaking. I had sent them to them for water testing and my jacket failed and was replaced but my pants passed. So they told me everything that you listed. To keep it clean and wash frequently and treat it with the same water proofing spray you posted. So I did all that on my pants and didn't notice any leaks for the season, so I would expect you should see similar results.

I looked after my klim pants and jacket. Washed them and used revivex. After 10 years my gear started to leak. I sent my jacket and pants in for testing and they failed. They gave me brand new jacket and pants! I expected to pay prorated balance due to the age of my old suit. Nope.
Im not sure how the others stack up warranty wise but Klim looked after me.

We didn't discuss boots. Could/Should work however heat is important to reactivate the waterproofing so that might be a problem.

With that being said I'm going too use what I have left for product and spray my stompers , there not leaking so will be preventive maintenance , can't hurt too try as part of the directions say dry on medium or hang too dry !Keep in mind, hang too dry is regular cleaning , Heat should be used when product is applied.

Use the gear aid spray. If you can’t find some out there I will grab an extra can next time I see it.

I use gear aid products on all my outdoor stuff.

Just an update, works great, my stompers are 4 yrs old and still dry as the day I bought them, my Klim bibs, still dry butt at the end of the day. I will continue using this stuff for sure.....2 thumbs up

I’m about to apply for my next trip. I thought my butt was getting damp last year so wanted to to a test last ride. Yep, gets damp. Will post reviews after next ride.

Usually this product works best by itself. Mixing with the other product in the background can lead to wetter pants. Just say'n.

Found the revivex products at Cabellas in Edmonton. FYI. I had a tear in my Klim pants and found a gore Tex repair kit There too. Clean, peel, stick done. Sprayed with the water proof spray. The big test will be the big pow in Mcbride this weekend Lol
