My old post is rider forward, about 2 inches!! Broke the plastic piece around the steering post and bent the footwells forward about 1 inch. Took a while to get everything lined back up so it fit properly.

Easiest way to get a hold of Kurt is his e-mail:

Well if you did it in 2 and half hours I should have invited you over,You said buy 18 beer as the first step.I did a much better job on the beer than on the post,Got it all ripped apart, just need to remove the airbox and slide the post out, didnt have a helper so I couldnt get the bolt off the pivot arm.Half an hour and Ill be ready to install the new one!

I have to go look tomorrow, but I'm sure in the last pic my post is in front of the crossbar, not behind it.

I don't have the extra skid plate, so maybe that saved me some time. You can get a small vise grip in the flat part of the bolt(see red arrow) if you don't have a helper. Two extensions from the top and the nut is off.

Check weld on bottom bracket(green arrow)

Please do,getting the clamp off the crossbar, you half to slide the post up or down to make room to remove the bolts, cant imagine when its got to go back together, makes more sense to have it in front but not sure there is room!
Thanks for your info, fossy will love this thread.

Hacksaw might be the quickest way to get that post out, just cut the top so you can drop it out the belly.

Bolts were tricky on mine too, not much room.

Lyle, looked at mine today, and the post is behind the crossbar, same as yours. Took some pics, but didn't have time to download before I came to work.
