I leave out just enough information that if they really are interested.
They will ask some questions before making an offer.
So if the first comunication from them is a lowball offer, I ignore it or have fun with them.

I find selling I just counter a low baller with reasonable # . I also find some people ask a lot for there used items , for example I was looking at kids bikes and some adds were out too lunch .
So I see no reason why I can't offer what I think is ok or within my budget . If you find that offensive well too bad . But then again I try not to be a tire kicker also.

It could also mean you’ll take more if there is a bidding war.

Obo doesn’t mean I’ll take half of my asking price though. Especially when it’s in the thousands of dollars. That’s more like make me an offer territory.

When someone is selling something like a sled for 6g and some dickhead offers 3g, that’s just outright insulting unless the asking price is ridiculous in the first place. I feel most of the time it’s not the latter though. It’s just someone being a lowballing arsehole.
OK 2500 for your 5g sled is my offer

Some lowballer just want to see if you will take their offer.
I had a few offered half off what I was asking,
I said sure, never hear from them again
If they ask where to pick it up I don't get back to them
No one has any money, just credit. It's like they're window shopping and even if you say yes to the lowball they still can't come up with that money. "will you take trades?" no, sell your own phuckin junk and bring cash.

I dont understand why so many people ask if the item for sale is still available, you reply yes, and then you dont hear anything back. What is that about? Takes every ounce of self control I have not to be a dick to those people.
It's because of all the lazy losers that won't delete thier add after sale, after I buy something I always check to see if they left add up,and yup lots do! There can be a variety of reasons that they don't get back to you but most obvious is they changed their mind, but if you are rude you just wrecked a potential sale a week later for minor reason.

I just ignore them, takes a min to read their offer and delete it. No worries.

I recently spent a weekend in Banff and I allways shut my phone off and leave it in my truck the whole weekend, had a low baller offer me 1/3'rd my asking price on a Friday night and 6 messages later he was offering me more then my asking price. I still squeezed him for another $40 just for the lowball offer.
