lets see how the kids have fun......I hate it when the law says our kids cant have fun because it is illegal for them to drive anything with an engine......here in BC it is illegal for any kid under 16 to drive a boat or a quad......and by next year, I can see a sled too........not going to stop my 10 year old.......just give me the ticket and let the kids have fun! he respects his toys and can ride better than someone over 16 that doesnt know what they are doing! we need to change the law so our kids can have fun like we did! even if it mean they have to write a test and prove they can run the toy! he is only 10 but does this mean he has to wait 6 years to have fun?

I guess we can teach them to sell crack or start a grow room so they can make good money and dont have to worry about going to jail since they are under 16.......funny how the laws work! lol

My son has been riding quads since he was 7(including the mountains every summer) and he is now 15. He rides better than a lot of adults. I agree that if taught properly by parents who care about how their kids learn to ride than it can be done safely. At 15 he is not even allowed to go off on his own at any time to ride and he doesn't complain about that. This coming winter he will finally learn to ride a sled. Just got 2 used ones.

I'm agreeing with Joey! Awesome thread man (overkill131313)!

It is too bad that various elements in society today are thinking they have all the right ideas and that the ideas us old folks had for our children were all wrong!

This fantastic grandson has been on a sled (and mostly his own) since he was maybe 6. His dad learned on the little ol' Elan in the back yard and then up and down the ditches delivering papers when he was about 8. A long colorful history.

The first picture is at the saddle above Gorman Lake. Three generations and two little short track, fan cooled sleds couldn't make it so we doubled up those big climbs. Then Glacier House on Alex's ol' Elan, then on Frisby and again 3 generations. The grandson was 9. The fourth picture, he is 12, and is at 8000' with "uncle grubby and poppa" and the last picture....yes, he can ride!

This is what started it...Got it for his birthday, rode it around the campfire until 10:30...when he passed out at the wheel..Ha

Some nice soul stole his quad last year so on the lookout for a replacement now...He is not impressed. He has been riding since he was 4.

Great pics! Your little one that is in the front on the Mini Z must be a closet Cat rider. He sure doesn't look happy to be on that Doo. Lol.:)
