has anyone ever had a problem getting a kfx 400 running it wants to start but does not run

the big 3 are spark, fuel , and air.... check for spark, fresh fuel at the in the carb bowl, drain out old stuff, and make sure the air cleaner is cleaned and oiled... Try a clean spark plug as well, you might be wet fouling it with old gas

had the same problem with my LTZ-400 which is the same as the kfx as u probably know. It would crank and wanna fire 4ever but never would fire.

Can you bog start it with another quad or truck.

My problem ended up being a common problem with these motors as they come with steel valves with a hardened coating on the valves and if dirt or sand gets by ur filter it takes the coating off and the valves stretch and the tappet clearence becomes zero causing a compression leak

Check ur tappet clearence and if any are zero ur gonna have to check the valves for wear
