I think o'leary would be fine. He's a businessman. Running a country is like running a business. As long as he doesn't sell out his employees (us) for the sake of better business I think he will do a much better job than anyone else to turn the economy around.
Canada government needs a business man to clean up all the over spending b.s and get the books back on line

No, he doesn't. Although he was born in Quebec and states that he understands Quebec and he can run without needing to speak French

I disagree. PM needs to be fluent in English and French.

The unfortunate part, is that you can't run Government like a business. When you break it all down, there is no return on investment, on return on service.

That said, running a cost efficient organization meeting the needs of the people for the practical delivery of government is the right thing IMO. I think that today's Governments reach too far, remove accountability of the person, and provide a lifestyle for government dependent people. Assistance, for the most part, should encourage people to be self-sufficient, productive and contributing members of society. Let people make their own choices, promote and create effective environment for people to succeed, but not do it for them. Recognize when failure has occurred and support the growth and expansion of our economy.

I disagree.
You do have a return on investment. It's the people working spending money and paying taxes, investors putting money into the businesses across the country that in turn expand, make more money and also pay more in taxes. It trickles uphill financially.

Come on you know budgets do balance themselves (right into billions of debt that is) :)

we were at a volunteer thank you brunch for his campaign and just listening to him you could tell he was done with the political scene ....funny he predicted exactly what trudeau would be in over his head
but sure would be nice if we could nominate someone cut from the same cloth
Can we just get Harper back .... Along with a surplus budget .....

hey bud I suffer from the similar illness he had and its not funny! He had Bells Palsy which paralyzed his face. I am fortunate I don't have paralysis but have lots of other issues going on. Anyway, wasn't a fan of his but making fun of someones ability to speak because of it isn't cool.

Not true! Jean Chretien couldn't speak either language.

Disagree, we need the best candidate possible.

If we require someone to be bilingual it is really limiting.

Plus I think English is gonna catch on.

But who knows by the time the election roles around it may be more important to be able to speak better Arabic than Trudeau.

Listen to the reason's why … He's no dummy

Yes. I respect him a lot more now. I thought his concession message was very classy, it was the right move. This was my concern with him all along, that he could win the conservative nod, but not the next election for the very reasons he outlined. Hopefully the conservatives can unite behind a solid leader and win the next election.
