Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
I dunno if it’s relevant but I’ll put this up anyway.

Kanedog clutch- made Nov.6, 2018, serial number 6436, 0725-956
Shipfly clutch- made Nov. 7, 2018, serial number 6849. Scratched out serial number with a new hand scribed number 0725-978, installed on a new 2020.

A few questions-

Shipflys 2020 clutch has grade 5 bolts. Another 2020 has grade 8 bolts. Why doesn’t shipfly’s 2020 have grade 8 bolts?

What is the difference between 0725-956 vs 0725-978 vs 0725-977?

Why was the serial number altered? This seems a bit sketch.

Here is a pic of another 2020 clutch. Made on Aug/2019, grade 8 bolts.
Why does one 2020 have grade 5 bolts but another one has grade 8 bolts?

I would be asking some questions. with a short warranty, this could be bad in a few years

In them hills.
So finally got home to check the clutch on the new sled, found the part number has been scratched off and has a new one etched in by hand, also a sticker with the ‘new’ number stuck on it. In total 10 balance holes drilled into the cover and 3 on the outer edge of stationary side. Sled is a 2020, but the clutch is stamped it was made in 2018. Only reasons this caught my eye was this thread and the mention of the “changes” made with the clutches/ part numbers etc, who knows what the old part number was on this clutch...
Have not had a chance to ride it yet, honestly first time I’ve had a sled, especially a new one where I’m a bit hesitant on the quality of this part.. I’ll be continuing to watch this thread and keeping a good eye on my clutches.
My last sled ‘17 M8 had well over 3k km and zero issues with anything, clutches included. Cover had a total of 4 balance holes drilled into it.

Cat replaced my primary on warranty. Mar 2019 build date that the dealer had in stock. 5 balance holes but fairly deep. No Part# on it but has the zinc grade 5 bolts so likely the 2019 clutch not the 2020.

Picked up my Hardcore today. Took a picture of the primary - same part # as E Zmoke but mine has more balance holes?!?!
Dealer was unaware of some of the current issues other guys are seeing or having.
Im going to have to stay on top of this to make sure there will be no long term issues hopefully.

Someone with a 2020 clutch pull out a bolt and see what the tolerance is.

There is alot of slop between the bolt and the hole in the cover.
Actually there is alot of clearance all the way down the tower until the bolt actually threads in.

The bolt only holds the cover down imo.

Imo the bolts flex and the small machined tabs are the only thing resisting the rotational forces.

could also do a custom fitted bolt too like a chevy starter bolt, has a larger knurled shank. Maybe the 911 cover has a smaller bolt hole?

Did anyone notice the sloppy bolts are a different colour than all the other bolts in the pictures, also there are no markings on the head.

Will do that in a couple days when I put my center shock back in.

If you’re getting it revalved can you pm me the details?

After riding mine for a few hours I’ve noticed nothing out of the ordinary yet. No real heat but conditions weren’t great for promoting any sort of hard pulls or anything. Hopefully next Saturday I can test it a little harder and see if it’s doing the same as some of the previous ones are.

I’m wondering if team just didn’t run out of the grade 8 grey coloured bolts and just slapped the grade 5 gold bolts in. Someone needs to crank out a grade 8 grey bolt and see if they are sloppy as well!??

KaneDog does the 911 cover come with bolts? If so what bolts does it come with and are they a better fit then the sloppy hooker action posted above?
