Kanedog 2015-2019, thanks for the good times S&M!
Now you can follow along and enjoy the madness.
1. Change jackshaft to shaft with beefy Yamaha splines.
2. Ceramic coat any aluminum close to the exhaust to reduce heat. Aluminum is the best conductor of heat and heat is the biggest enemy of clutching and hood meltage. Ceramic coating reduces underhood heat. Green ceramic for exhaust of course.
3. Change secondary to a Paragon 2 six pack.

Don't be green with envy now. Green Ceramic Coated stock exhaust. It saves 3lbs, cost $200, cooler underhood temps and a conversation piece.
Rocket coatings in Abbotsford, BC. did this.
Cat bearing clutch with 911 cover, 1st ever Paragon on an Alpha. I deserve a prize. Maybe a boobie prize.

I have the same Rox risers on my 04 kingcat 900 - they work good - that is some seriously awesome looking clutching - I ran into a guy at eagles with a boosted xm and he said he preferred the team secondary - said he had a paragon hanging in his shop - maybe it wasn't setup right - not sure - dude seemed pretty knowledgable about sleds - his sled had a mountain magic wrap - aerocharger side mount pushing 12lbs boost with a Polaris primary and team secondary - that jackshaft tho looks way stronger than the cat one - I love custom too tho - I have done a fair amount of custom stuff to my xm - never thought of coating any surrounding parts - that's smart - I coated all my surrounding parts in gold heat tape - and wrapped every piece of exhaust I could - spring riding did havoc on all my surrounding parts

Feast yer eyes on the coupled suspension with fox shocks. They are posed to be better than Raptors and are $200 more expensive. I will test and report back.
Notice the mountain bike tire tube over the springs. This nifty mod prevents snow/ice build up on the springs sometimes.
I installed the Kmod to combat the late season 2ft whoops.

I hate shock boots because they trap moisture and rust out your shaft and fuk your seals.

That has been my experience with them any ways.

Was the alpha skid junk? I usually use the whoops on the way down to clear out any ice outta the raptors - if u had a speedwerx on there pushing boost you probably wouldn't care about the minor buildup in the skid because usually when your pushing 8lbs+ the skid buildup doesn't matter too much anymore

The Alpha was rough af on the trail and it washed out easily.
I had a Kmod before and it's a dream on the trail.
The mono just wasn't for me. No biggie. Onward and upward.

I believe you that the kmod is brutal on the trail - if I had one I'd probably try to fab in a Firestone ride rite in the front of that skid - any skid that is similar to the kmod skid will be sweet - I have the racers edge Baker setup with raptors and I love it - I also have the cr racing m10 skid in my kingcat super good skid - the redline skid would also be a sweet skid to have - rear suspension setup is everything when your on 3ft whoops during the new year's rush @ the Walmart parking lot of a staging area's or if your pushing boost and wanna keep the skis planted - custom is the way to go for sure like the people rocking no beak on the helmets cuz thatz custom lol

Some cool trivia- Kmod was invented because the owner bought a 2004 King Cat. The suspension was so bad he came up with the Kmod.
Your screen name is Kingcat, you are addicted to good suspensions and Kmod was invented because of a Kingcat. That's pretty deep hey?
I have found the Kmod is great on the trail but doesn't keep the front end down as good as the Racers Edge. Now if there was an in between model of RE and Kmod.........maybe it's the Redline? Hmmm.
On a foot note, here is a nifty photo shoot I did on the hood of my wife's car and her feet for u foot pervs. Powderfreaks 8tooth 2.86 pitch. The holes are custom Kanedog design.

Not sure why we care to build a skid that works better for the trail? :noidea::noidea:

Because if you ride in BC - out of the 200+kms put on in a day - 60kms of those are a trail ride - bad control on some of these trails can end very badly
Agreed, as long as at no time would I sacrifice deep powder gains for a better trail ride.

If the Kmod is set up, it is a great skid in the powder, gets up n the snow and stays there. I’ve had a few different skids over the years, and the Kmod is under both sleds in our stable for good reason. If your results are different, give Kevin a call and he’ll help you tune it.

K mod is evolving day by day. originally the mounting locations were in specific areas, no he is giving multiple mounting locations as per what kind of end result your looking for as well and shortening the shocks and changing the location on the coupling block by 1/4 inch. The coupling block itself is also different. big changes, all with different riding characteristics. That redline skid is not only a direct knock off of kmod, but i seen one break at the welds on the rear arm. Although i do gotta say he got the rear drop bracket stiffeners on the head, we have to build custom drop brackets for our k mods to withstand the abuse that is one area k mod could use some work on. good thing my tig skills are on point lol.
