Prorogation of Parliament has thrown a real unknown in the mix for accountants as tax time nears in regards to the new proposed Capital Gains increase the Lieberal Govt has proposed. It is still not law as it wasn’t approved in the House because of filibustering by the Conservatives and the delays because of the Green Slush Fund scandal. The government has told the CRA that it is law and to collect the tax and the media, as well as entities like the Canadian Tax Payers Federation have said we don’t have to pay it. It’s an illegal OIC at this point. Similar to the Gun Buy Back Program is.

my understanding is it never passed in the house as a bill so it cant be collected. I could be wrong.

Even if it is challenged in court and found that the prorogation is illegal, what do you think will happen? That f¥€£ing sack of sh!t has been found guilty of other scandals and nothing was done about it. We as Canadian citizens or should I say subordinates don’t hold our politicians accountable. We need to start executing politicians found guilty of screwing over the people that they were elected to serve.

Well there you have it. CTV reporting this morning that the government finance dept is telling the CRA to continue to implement the new Capital Gains proposed legislation. Under the rules of prorogation all House business is to cease until a new session (March 24) is called. So yea this government does not recognize parliaments own rules. Phacking pond scum.

The progressive conservatives went into that election with a similar 16% approval rating to the current liberals. That was in response to the PC under Mulroney bringing in the GST which was needed partly to undo what Trudeau Sr had done to the country. Mulroney resigned and Campbell essentially fell on her sword.
