Turns out Dean is a hell of a salesman. He's sold me on the longer drive. I'll be heading down that way too.
Aprox how many km's into cutoff creek off the tunk road and how is the road? also which direction is best to ride? if you keep riding west will you just hit the north/south trail and loop around? thanks i want to learn another area and never been.so butch you do the loop or just ride to the east?
Had a great day ride....this included one quad attempting to be a boat, (completely swamped) water levels were a little higher than usual! I had a slight mishap...lol, I am underestimating the seriousness of what happened...suffice to say @ 30MPH when travelling down a road and a ball joint goes (my bad, patched it twice and SHOULD have stopped to recheck) a '99 AC 500 will do quite an interesting dance on it's front tires @ a 45 degree angle, but won't quite flip.....came close though*PHEW*
But for the record the old AC did pull the swamped quad back to shore....
AGAIN thanks to everyone who helped, and stayed to make sure everything was ok...GREATLY appreciated!! All y'all ROCK!!

get yerself a pluz map from forestry, some areas don't open till july 1 and most area's west of the trunk road have trail restrictions, u must stay on trails only. sure sucks having to pay fines instead of picking up a map. they are also on the srd web site.
I have the big horn map , its open in Cutoff, just wondering how many km's into there from the trunk road?get yerself a pluz map from forestry, some areas don't open till july 1 and most area's west of the trunk road have trail restrictions, u must stay on trails only. sure sucks having to pay fines instead of picking up a map. they are also on the srd web site.
It was a good day. Glad everyone made it home safely (albeit, their quads need some work).
I captured a bit of the fun with my GoPro. Take a look at the video here, but be gentle, it's my first attempt at editing video.
Thanks again, everyone. Looking forward to riding with you guys again.

thank you,Its about 20km to the Cuttoff creek sign .
I checked the maps before we left after being asked if there was some kind of restriction in this area. We were considerabley east of the FLUZ zones in that area, so it looks like we were OK ...other than having to ride about 8km on a forestry road that was gated and closed for public use, which we didn't realize until after we needed to get a tow vehicle in there only to find a locked gate and a sign.
A good kick in the pants for us not to neglegt our maintenance, eh? ....luckily the lesson didn't cost you any broken bones. I know I'll defiantely be giving my machines a once over now.
