Hey y'all. I've got a 2017 Jeep Sport JK...2 door shorty. I bought it to tow behind the motorhome in 2017. So it is PRISTINE. Never seen snow, never mudded...I don't think I've even put it in 4WD ever, LOL. It is a pavement princess with 25,000km on it. Anyways, the motorhome went away with the (now ex) wife 2 years ago, but I hung on to the Jeep (and my Challenger). This Jeep was supposed to come with the cheapo wheels and 225-75-16, but the dealership put on the aluminum Jeep wheels and tires from (I think) a Sahara with 245-75-17....so like 3 inches taller. I had to get the speedo corrected in the computer....dealership did it for free.

ANYWAYS: this rig will always be a pavement machine. I intend to get another moho one day after my bank account recovers from symptoms of divorce. Winter boredom has kicked in and drinking beer in my garage looking at my parked Challenger and Jeep, my OCD kicks in. Jeep needs to sit about 2" taller. Anyone have any experience with short lift kits? I've been on "Just Jeeps" website (apparently ships from within Canada) and there are dozens of kits. I tend to not like the idea of cheapo spacer kits...so looking at full kits. Brands: AEV, Superlift, Rough Country, Warrior, Rubicon Express, Terraflex, Readylift, Quadratec....holy hell.

So I'm going to stick with the rims and tires I have...no intention of going larger than 30-31" in height as the gearing is steep already...6th gear just idles down the highways. I'm going to admit right up front I'm only doing it for the mall crawler look...some pretty springs and shocks, Hahaha. I just don't want to lose the stock ride and steering. Any experiences?

Some "kits" are decent. But full custom is always your best bet for a mall crawler haha

I think you're going to want to swap rims and tires too. Go with a wider stance and more aggressive tire. Even without lifting tires and rims would make a huge difference in the appearance.

I have owned two door jeeps for about 52 years now. I do not agree that it will look better with a lift of any kind and you will gain nothing by doing it. Your gains will go in the opposite direction. You have to do what is best for you in YOUR opinion, mine does not count.

Rancho you can even get it from Canuck tire . altho AEV is arguably better, for your use maybe not .

Most forums say to stay away from rough country kits. But if your building a pavement princess you might be able to get away with a cheaper lift.

I picked up a used 3.5" metal cloak lift I put in mine. And it's now on 37s. So it's a jump to get in.

When you do put a lift in, it will mess up your geometry. Get a lift with adjustable control arms. And you can adjust to set everything back where it's ment to sit.
Also be sure to get your pinion angle and castor before coming apart. I didn't. And spent some time on Google trying to learn where I needed to set it to.

Also make sure your track bar and drag link stay parallel with each other. Otherwise you'll have issues with handling and driving smooth.

Terraflex is supposed to be pretty good as well.
I'm slowly changing all my stuff to metalcloak. I have altho new drag link in my shop, when I can afford the tie rod I'll buy it then install.

Good luck with your build, and of you ever want to hit some trails with it. Let me know.

There's a Ghost falls run on Dec 28. It's as easy as easy can be. Cool scenery, not going to get any scratches there. And no mud holes.
