Does anybody have any experience with the JD jet kits? I have a 14 YZ250 I’m mostly riding single track trails or with the kids. With all the lower rpm riding I’m having trouble dialing in my lower rpm jetting. The bike doesn’t foul plugs or anything just seams a bit rich down low. When we come out of a tight section of trail to a section where I can open it up it smokes like crazy. I’m running a 45 pilot jet needle is in the third position, 40:1 Motul 710.

Thanks for any info

Try raising the clip to drop needle down. That will lean out the low rpm.

Try dropping pilot size down to a 42, and probably have to play with clip position and A/S

I’m running the jd kit. The difference is the needles are a triple taper. Vs double (I think). I believe you can also use a Suzuki needle and accomplish the same. Search yz Suzuki needle and there will be lots of info (thumper talk).

Top of my head I think I’m 172 main, jd red clip 2 or 3? 42 pilot. (I could check I have it written down).

Down low it’s crisp. Maybe lacking a bit of overrev at the top, but runs good right through.

32:1 ams oil. I’ll drip a line of spooge down the silencer after a ride but I don’t mind being on the safe side of things. The bike can loop out with a twitch of the gas if you sneeze.
