Unless insurance changed, if you put a new driver on your policy it just puts off them being on their own and paying expensive rates for a bit. Insurance has went up a bit for sure in certain areas. I just don't understand how they price certain things, like 1500s cost more then 3500s. I can insure a $40k 3500 diesel full coverage cheaper then a $10k 1500 with collision. And rates should drop on all vehicles if you add another one without adding anymore drivers, you can only drive one at a time. They need to raise the rates of the people who get into a million accidents, let them pay for their stupidity instead of everyone else.

Kenny is going to piss everyone off. For his entire term. Notley made herself look good by throwing billions around. Our healthcare was a complete and utter disaster. Trim the fat. Would be nice for some middle ground but I don’t see it happening. I wonder what Brian is up to these days.

I guess my hope was Kenney might be able to replicate what Klein did, balance the budget on $20 oil. Suppose those days and that level of conservatism are long gone, way too many people living off the hand outs.

I can only imagine how many are simply not paying car insurance, my understanding is not uncommon for a teenager to have a coupe tickets that will make insurance costs in the thousands for a junk car. Like was on global a teen girl, $6000 per year premium for one accident, might as well go with out if the tickets is $2500 and you have no net worth to worry about being sued.

I think Ralf had people with common sense to deal with.
Today's people want, want, want, with little to zero ability to understand the coming consequences.
I typically will not hire an ex-govt employee that has served over three consecutive years with govt - it has proven to costly to retrain and some are just unrecoverable to ever get 8 hours production per day - not kidding.

Axe needed to fall on year one so wounds had 3 years to heal and people to see benefit before next election - Rachael must be smiling watching the slow process.
Just do it right now Kenny! or the biotch is back in.

And yes Maxwell you are right it needs to be done again, badly.

The cuts to the post secondary education still needs to go deeper.
My wife works for one lots of suits around doing whatever.
She still has a job bored at work before the cut and after the cut got moved still sits around twittering her thumbs.
Told her supervisor a few year back she needed more work was told " you are on shaky grounds "
So lots of fat to cut everywhere.
Kenney needed to come in like King Ralph did, with a chainsaw not a scalpel.

The funding needs to be put to the students and not staff. Tuition is getting out of hand, and stop bringing in foreign students to educate on our dime, most will never pay a cent of tax back to Canada. It's really frustrating when qualified Albertan students get passed up in favour of foreign ones.

Keep in mind our province paid the price with Ralph. Ralph bucks for instance. Lol. If that wasn’t the most socialist act I don’t know what is. He did balance a budget, but you didn’t have a front end on your car or truck. Pot holes the size of a youth sled. You gotta play the game. Ralph did that. There was a cost tho. People need to remember that.

How would anyone expect Jason Kenney to fix five years of deliberate efforts and attacks directly aimed at the Alberta economy in just a couple of years? Seriously??
The people of Alberta elected notley and the anti-resource, pro green socialists who promptly through direct action made alberta a place where investment left as quickly as it could. They then borrowed money and bloated spending on government that raised our debt exponentially. Then Trudeau gets elected, and at the direction of his masters, pursued a green, anti-energy, anti pipeline agenda with legislation that directly attacked the Alberta economy and the destroyed the ability to move resources out of the province.
Until Alberta can keep its revenues in the province instead of subsidizing eastern welfare provinces, we will have a struggle, particularly now that with COVID the economy is being stifled by overreaction and unnecessary shutdowns.
With all that in mind, I think it’s fair to give the current government some time to get things moving forward. Huge cuts to the waste in health care and education are coming, with privatization of health care foremost to eliminate the excessive bureaucracy that exists in the biggest cost in the provincial budget.
They won’t get everything right, but they beat the alternative of the NDP.

Sorry but I can not agree on that.
The money spent to just pay the interest never mind pay down the debt is ridiculous right now.
You can build a K-9 school every month or a hospital every second month just with the interest payments we make.
After Ralph's hack and slash there were years of debt free and a very prosperous economy.
Every socialist govt spends to keep people happy.
4 more years of Rachael spending and driving major business out of the province would be the end.
After 4 years there would not be money for fluffy social programs, local students, required social programs.
Do we really want our credit rating dropped again?

New Brunswick has just suffered this fate when they tabled their budget.
The only good would be that finally the fat of the govt jobs would be cut and the ridiculous pensions would have to be trimmed back.

So much waste in anything the govt touches. Private sector is soooooo much more efficient.

Wow Ralph had nothing to do with potholes
In the municipalities.
Now the road budget goes to bike lane, making it all look good and not taking care of the problems on the roads.
Don't get me started on the money wasted on roads.
There needs to be cuts there also.
Worked over 30years on road construction the waste is bad.
The problem with public programs is you don't make money just spend it, and if you don't spend it you get penalized. So they are aways looking to spend the money.
My wife would say oh I got a new desk, laptop, coffee maker with coffee at the end of the year.
So they could spend the whole budget.
Like I said we need a chainsaw.

Sorry guys. We’re talking about apples and oranges. This is a kenny thread. Ralph was premier for what, 11 or 12 years. Different times now. It’s also not that bad, salesman across Alberta had a record year. Kenny is guiding this province thru one of the biggest hoaxes in world history. 6 months ago people across Alberta were fighting over toilet paper. Those same people fighting over chit tickets also vote. The snow is gonna fall, we’re still gonna load up our sleds and head to the hills.

Our population went up. What did you think was going to happen with public programs. Lots of public servants on here as well. They sled, quad and enjoy the outdoors. 30 years in road construction must have been pretty decent for you to stick around in it for that long. Paid your bills. I watched a paving crew lay new asphalt on 1” of snow two weeks ago. Waste of time and money. Public programs have never made money. Ever. There a must tho. It’s not new

Yep, I agree. Hinton to edmonton stretch of the Yellowhead, is the worst I seen in the 20 years Ive been in Alberta, rim bending pot holes.

Thats federal so you can imagine how soon that will get fixed
