I was at Miledge Dec of 93,the whole group was trying to brake trail in very deep pow through the trees.I noticed a Brand New 583 Summit that was fairly impressive and had a chat with the owner.I quizzed him on the SKS skid that was on it,his reply was he had to mountains twice with the C7 stock setup. He said it would not work and said I’m not into $hit not working,he was the owner of a Skidoo dealership.Skidoo has come leaps and bounds since 1996!

Excuse my error I thought 93 was first year,94 was first year.

It was Mark Thompson on a 1996 summit 670, he was the first to take the first stock sled over the top.

I've wondered if they are also trying to sell more mountain services by doing it. Maybe hoping more people will take the gondola and then walk down? A single rider 1-way ticket for the gondola is $30 and is non-refundable! I tried to book one and it doesn't even let you pick a day though, not sure if they are sold out or if the website doesn't work. They have an unlimited one, but no price. Guessing its north of $200.

Other than the spectation side of things, the course actually looks interesting. It goes up Cougar and then takes a right onto Wolverine, all of which is a double black diamond compared to just the last bit of Upper Exhibition until the catwalk. It looks a lot skinnier than Exhibition, I think theres liable to be some tree and sideline carnage from runaways. Other than right at the top, there doesn't seem to be as many rocks, and hopefully it will eliminate the rock garden at the 3/4 mark on Exhibition that was always brutal for causing unnecessary wrecks.

ya, turned out the new course was just as nasty or worse than the old one lol
not sure why that post didnt show up until yesterday... LOL regardless, yeah, above the catwalk at Gate 21 was rough but the snow seemed softer above there, guys could dig in at least. Always sucked watching sleds get busted up on the rocks or rolling to the bottom. No need for that. Below that in the trees seemed icy. Most of the classes had highmarks in the finals which was good, took me back to the old days of the BCSF when that's all it was. Nice to see Brennan get a 3rd and saw Calvin Irmen's name in there a few times also, he's doing his old man proud.

Does Mike sled any longer? He was a legend in the Big Irons!
Yes. His son's Carson (628C), Colton (469C) and Calvin are all racing in the RMSHA. Both Carson and Colton were in the qualifiers on Thursday.
