My 8 year old started riding one of these. The old Yammies are great for the kids. Just have to put a throttle block in for the first while. Built my 13 year old an old drifter. She loves it !!

I agree 100%. If I were to buy my kids a $5000 or $500 sled, they will smash it into something anyway(like their ol dad lol). I can absorb the cheaper hit and still afford to fix my stuff too, when the inevitable happens. It is however nice to see the leadership and innovation by Yamacat for addressing the giant gap in sled sizes and the pretty much vacant youth market. Nice little machines!

Not to be an azz - but this mindset is the manufacturer's problem. Everyone screams that they want a mid-level machine, but no one will buy them new.

Anyway - I would never buy another sled for a kid. I told them either a snowbike or they can walk. :)
