That is called overhead it is built into the rate. Unless you want to bill me 20min everytime I take something to the shop for overhead but only charge me the $15/hr that the teenage mechanic is making. You don't get to have it both ways.
Sounds like you should fill out an application!

replacing sliders does not only intail replacing sliders themselves. no one takes into consideration from the time the shop unloads the machine, bring it in the shop, open work order, assign mech.,set up, change sliders, spin track, double check to make sure every thing is ok.,clean up area , finish paper work, make sure customer is happy and reload on truck or trailer. this is all of two hours. for you guys who say you can do this in 20 min. come get a job, i have lots of work for you.
You've been to a Spader course haven't you. Thats the way they work things.

His sled was in the shop already. So your saying your shop could only install 4 sets of sliders in a 8 hr day?
I would say you need help and that's all I will say as you obviously have a business.

my thoughts. both my rev doo and budies RX1 we can swap out sliders and job done in half an hour while still drinking beer, with 2 guys its a whole lot easier. and yes we cut out a window slightly. tightening the track, taking the sled out side, to test the track, talking with the customer all takes time but 2 hours? sound like they roundd up. but if the sliders are worn right down to the rails things can get ugly and difficult.

however ... the nun can be very time consuming if a arms and or tunnel is bent. but I'm guessing the labour was seperate to the sliders on the bill.

i think we need more info about this bill ...
