Pretty sure that they are going back to separate GST and PST instead of the HST. 15% instead of 12%?

5% GST + 7% PST still = 12% rapeage. Except now it's not refundable to business owners so we're worse off.

BC is going back to two taxes again, PST and GST. There will be taxes on more things than previously though, I understand the fun tax will be the highest one, if the gov't sees you smiling and enjoying yourself they will have have their hands out while behind your back they are trying to figure out a way to ban that activity.

I'm confused. Refundable to business owners? What was refundable before? I was always under the impression the business collects the tax on the goods/service, then pays that to which ever government it goes to.

I voted out the HST, and im not a senior. Reality was, we had gst and pst before, so not everything had both taxes. Then the BC guberment decided to blanket every last breathing thing (except food I believe) so everything was taxed. People didn't want it before, guberment didn't listen, just bullied the tax in, then the revolt started. Premier finally had to step down (among other things, drunk driving etc) and it was voted out. Any tax, is a government scam

I will agree with you that the way the government pushed the HST was a bad move and should have been out in the open during election time. However, IMO the HST was way better for many reasons.
