Thought Id pick up an Auto Trader bike boat & rv to see what was for sale, haven't done that for a while. I was shocked to see it was as follows:
38 pages (front to back)
32 pages of non gloss
4 pags of gloss
23 paged of store front ads
15 pages of peeps advertising and some are still businesses.
Not that many years ago the auto trader was the place to go for toys.

So is it Dead now?

Kijiji is what mostly everyone uses now including me. It's free! Which means more people will post ads on it which means more people will turn to it to find something to Buy or just to browse.

The Auto Trader is trying to fight Kijijiji a bit by allowing free online adds, but you have to put up with the phone calls from their sales department trying to get you to pay for the print adds.

The online adds have been free for a long time. It would take 24hrs to clear and then be posted. The add would run for a week then autotrader would contact you and try and sell more time in the mag and on line. I use to do this long before kijiji was born. The new format of the trader is a bit confusing but one does get use to it. It's definaetly not my favorite anymore. Not as many private adds for sure. Times are changing :)
