The weather channel is wrong usually 7 out of ten times. Don't let a little rumor spoil your fun;)
I've ridden in -30 a few times, short trips and then warm up. Not in the mountains tho'.
A bad day a sledding is better than a good day sitting at home............just saying :)

Agreed

I wouldn't go dude. You gotta think what might happen if you had to spend the night...

So our first trip of the season is planned for next weekend to Valemount. I just looked at the weather for next weekend -37 for lows!!!!!!!!!!! Highs of - 21........Not sure if we should change weekends or tough it out as it is our first trip

Nothing to worry about now. Weather Network is now showing -9 on Saturday and -6 on Sunday for Valemount with a ch!t load of snow this week.

experiencing the inversion thing makes you try to sled when you shouldn't....lol. had it happen twice, once in Hasler west of Chetwynd and once in Valemount. both times we unloaded in the staging area at sub -30 temps to find the temps very mild at elevation and hardly a soul out there. but then you always think it might be like that....so you unload in -30 and head up to find out it's just as cold or even colder at elevation. those days suck....

i find with mountain riding your never cold until you stop no matter what the weather is.

yes trail riding -20 or less wlould be my limit aswell since you are not using your body nearly as much as mountain riding

So even with all Klim gear would -30 be cold? curious because I had a guy with all Klim gear tell me he was on the side of the mountain drinking beer in the snow bank at -30 and wasn't even cold. true? If so I will have to be getting some full Klim dress.

what does klim gear have to do with anything,it depends on what you where underneithe it...some people are hot blooded...ive bin cold in -10 and warm in -30.just depends on how my body is doing.don,t get me wrong i have klim jacket and pants but what i where under it changes from day to day.i think gortex clothing is a must for mountain rideing but it doesnt need to be klim stuff..my :twocents:
