It will still be a while before they can start construction again... They need to go back to the government for approval again because it expired. The supreme court ruling was just one of many hurdles before it gets going again. It will likely be a tough one to get past the NDPs. Long term is will likely affect the sledders but not any time soon in my opinion.

absolutely, the whole resort is a joke. Year round skiing. Yup because in august everyone in Canada wants to ski. further to that have 2 ski resorts within 50km? of each other it again ridiculous.

the owners really need to drop it. They have been trying for this resort now for 10years, mayby longer.

It was first proposed in 1990 to the government. Approved in 2012 and they did start some foundation construction. However, because of how long drawn out the approval process was, the construction permit expired and they had to halt construction.

No, terrain in the area is heli ski and no sleds allowed until spring. It will affect RK Heli ops though.

Correct, they poured a pad that is about the size of a garage. Government said not enough substantial building so permit expired.

I doubt they will move forward now that the Valemont resort has been approved. Same group involved.

Yes you are right aswell but the reason that they are so persistent is because they have investors all over the world who have already forked out a ton of money and at this point they want to see returns. Its going to be a big battle moving forward but at the same time i don't see them backing off especially after just getting the supreme court ruling. It'll be interesting to see what their next move is in the coming year or so.

Honestly I don't believe they have much for investors otherwise construction would have been started.

That's what I had heard as well for the reasoning back in the 90s and early 2000s. May be a different story now. I honestly don't think it'll ever work out. Great area but how's it going to work with pano 20 minutes away and is pano really that busy?

im up at a buddy's cabin in pano a few times a year and its so-so. For the guys that have a place they use it. Id say its pretty busy but to get the infrastructure back into delphine for the jumbo skihill just seems near impossible. The giant steel beams, girders, piles, and such that theyd try to SPMT or heli in would be one hell of an undertaking.

Just the once I've been up when the ski hill was not great condition. Took the gf up to snowboard, but had to do a little exploring by myself. Can you get over any of the ridges to the north or east of the cabin to other riding areas?

you could get around to Bruce creek but you need to side hill around a huge convex aspect that can rip out and run a long way. Bruce does not offer much for sled terrain either.
