Somebody was chatting about the bear bone....here is a picture of an NWT grizzly penis bone! It is bone and not cartilage. I didn't varnish it as even after 30 years there is still fat coming out of it and IMHO the varnish would just peel. It has been boiled and bleached and just hanging around the shop for a conversation piece.....

Interesting thread to read on a night shift at work!!

I found this little sucker in the hallway on the way to Rehab to do an ABG tonight:



So I used zoom to get a close up, bcz I wasn't getting any closer for real (the zoom and my shaky hands made it blurry- I thought it might jump!!):

And then I Google brown recluse spider:


So I go back with some backup to kill it, and someone has driven over it with a wheelchair But the evidence has been collected by security and we are hoping to confirm the species for patient safety. There have been cases of brown recluse bites in Northern BC in the past, so no chances are being taken.... I have had the heebies for my entire night shift so far!!
