K here's how it went today.
Found the skull again,

Couldn't really figure out where to start, so we started pulling teeth.

My hubby pulled out a very interesting tooth, we were oooing and ahhhing over it till the stench hit us. Holy Moley did that thing stink.

Brought it home anyways. Did you guys see the ivory tooth?

with my experience with Elk..
it does not look like anything I have seen before.
maybe because it is so small the ivory teeth have not yet developed..

its either really young.. (I would need a measurment of the jaw)
because there is no sign of growth of antlers...

the bottom jaw for some reason looks too big for an elk..

There was some hair around the area. I'll go up again and take pics of the hair. Maybe deer? Lots of Mulies around that area. :d

I don't mean to offend anyone...
but it looks like a farm yard animal too me ??

What kind do you think? Totally no offence taken. Really interesting dead thing, and this is very cool figuring it out. Just so you know, we were up a mountain, and no farms close by.:d We need Grissom.;)

was the rest of the animal there ?
wondering if the head was dragged off to finish...
usually a animal will drag off the head because of the good eating in it. (yuck)
but harder to get at.

There was a bit of hair in the proximity, but no body anywhere. Walked around the area to see if there was more of the dead thing to take a picture of but there wasn't.

Ya, that's why the kids and I didn't figure it was a horse. Have been googling skulls, you get some pretty weird results let me tell you! I'll see if we can get the hair today. We live in a really cool place! Hmmm Maybe it's a sasquatch.
