I'm all for alternative energy sources but the fact of the matter is we aren't their yet. So yes we require this form of energy, unless we completely change our lifestyles.
We will always need petroleum as it is a great raw material like trees - well at least until I work out the bugs of the Star Trek replicator I am working on in my basement.
The video actually doesn't go far enough for stupid people to understand.
The underwear the guy was wearing wasn't made here, it came on a container
ship that burn's hundred's of thousand's of gallons of fuel to bring cheep crap to
our door steps. How about the concrete for the house foundation? The steel in the
appliances, ect, ect. Go back even as recent as 100 years and see what life was like
before the exploits of the energy we enjoy today.Does that Notly C*** have a solar
powered car, house and walk anywhere she has to go?
Fact is solar and wind offer VERY little output for what goes in to design, manufacturing,
installation,ect.
If it was so easy why hasn't it been done on a large scale world wide?
So funny, I had some granolas lose there chit on me a few years ago for throwing a plastic bottom on a camp fire. The same twits that started the fire with old gas.
I gave up trying to explain to them that plastic is derived from oil based product and oil is derived from plants. They liked their nature herb tho
