I got a 1981 kdx 250 in great condition. I really want to ride it out in the trails this year, but my parents want me to insure it. I was wondering what insurance company is best... I only want bare minimum... I tried a couple and they told me i needed class 6 and it would, and price was something like 600$ which is retarted, (they must of been of drugs) it's a f*ck**g motocross offroad vehicle dumb asses... Whatever only reason i still have the bike is because it has lots of power and pushes 156km/h... Let me know what insurance is best...

Go to darson insurance. they are a site sponser. I had full coverage on my quad last year and it was no more than 380bux. His user name is stumpy on this site. call him.

I have my dirt bikes insured with Co-Operators. Many companies don't handle off-road vehicles directly and often go through another 3rd party insurance company and that's when Basic rates are $300 plus! If you're going to ride on public land in Alberta one ticket for no insurance and license plates is $550. Here's what I pay and I don't have a class 6 license.

'09 CRF450X: $265 (Fully insured including collision, comprehensive, theft & liability)
'05 TTR125: $161 (comprehensive, theft & liability)
'09 PW50: $105 (liability only)
