What are you guys paying on your new one ton diesels for a year and where? Just bought a new 2024 Ford Lariat One ton diesel. Just got my renewal and looking at $1430/6 months or $2860/ year for full coverage minus glass as I purchased glass from Ford. Moonroof is $3600 to replace they say. Have always paid around that $600-$700 for diesels every 6 months. Asked the gal at CoOperators and she said Ford insurance is expensive. Are GMs and Rams up there as well? Is it the aluminum bodies? Thanks boys!

Can't really compare what I drive to that but I do know anything on these newer trucks is insanely costly to repair. Simple stuff like headlights, taillights, bumpers, tailgates all cost 10x what they used to because their full of sensors. Ford specific I heard the superduty taillights are $1K+, and I think that was per side. So as much as I hate insurance it kind of makes sense for the prices to rise.

My son is getting his box sides redone on his 2016 Ford. Long story as to why they rusted out.
The body shop gave us a quote (reasonable) but did say he is lucky to have the steel panels compared to the aluminum ones. The shop just did the same job on an aluminum body and it was 2.5X more.

I’m thinking the aluminum is part of it. Someone old me the tailgates are like $14,000? That’s crazy

My broker let me know this at my last renewal. She said the aluminum bodies are expensive to repair and they still have a premium for cost recovery from all the thefts of the 6.0 power stroke era. She said it was best to quote insurance before purchase as Fords pay a significant premium over GM and Ram

sounds like a good deal as I live in b.c. and we pay more .
Depends on your discount. I think I am $1900/year for a 24 Chev with glass coverage. Didn't think that was unreasonable considering.

First qualifier, my truck isn’t new it is a 2017, and it isn’t a diesel. The first year of the aluminum body. Leather, large sun roof, and an 8’ box.
My insurance, full coverage including glass, is $1500 and change (for a year) here in the busy north Okanagan.

Yes, lots depends on your driving history obviously, but also your location
My driving record is stellar. I live in rural Alberta. I paid the amount but will
Shop around and see if other companies are similar. I have been with Cooperators since I started driving 50 years ago and have my farm and all my vehicles with them so I really don’t want to leave but they need to be competitive at best.

Ouch, I’m paying $1460 a year, full coverage, 2018 ram 3500 limited diesel, was $1180/year when I first bought the truck new 6 years ago. Clean driving record
