did mine this summer. i installed 2 marine speakers in the roof and its plenty loud for me. i have it hooked to my battery so it can run independent from the truck. i made sure to get a deck with ipod chord. only thing i would do differently next time would be to buy a higher quality deck tha functions better in cold weather. maybe a marine specific deck.

And add a stripper pole.......never know when it might come in handy.

I use a Bose sounddock (rechargable) one. It goes into the enclosed trailer, room, shop, deck, cabin outside where ever I would like it. not so sure I would go to the trouble of a fixed deck and speakers again.

I have two 500W amps, six 6x9s, and two 12" subs in my trailer. Most times it is only half volume, or less. By far, the iPod hookup is the most useful.

Here's a few pictures of how I mounted my stereo. Used 2 outdoor patio speakers. Mounted 1 on the door, so if you want some music outside you just have to have the door open and it faces outside. Made an aluminum box for the stereo and the DVD player. The box can spin 90 degrees, so if you're outside, you just have to poke your head in the door and you can see the head unit, or it can be turned to face the opposite wall. There is a fold down bench on the other wall, so if you're sitting on the bench you are able to see the display from there.

If. You have a cabinet in your trailer, go to certified radio and get an under mount kit for a car stereo, it makes it look quite slick. I don't have mine installed, so hence, no pictures.

Built a cabinet for mine so it would match the rest of the cabinets inside. Put in a double DIN Jensen because of the options with them. Front folds down and you can insert your SD of CF cards from cameras to see pictures. Also has the direct ipod module with it (the most important thing to have). Used Alpine marine speakers.

I've done the whole rediculous stereo, stripper pole, tv, disco lights, ect thing and can definitely tell you the novelty fades pretty quick. Put a dr.dre beats pod in the tool box and just take it out when you want it.
Spend the extra time and money on a good furnace and gear drying setup. Trying to post pics of my setup but won't work.
