installed a temp on my Polaris 850 today with pics

today I installed a temperature guage on my Polaris 850.
took about 2 hrs. went for a test drive works perfect...
fan comes on at 95*C and off at 75*C...
wanted to pull the fan module , but seems hard to get out ,
would like to know at what temp the high temp light comes on

Glendon Motor sports , talk to Shane , he is great , oreder and arrived in 3 days , he will likely mail you what ever you want
just need to know your rad hose size, inside diameter... and oreder the handle accessory as an extra , was around $80.00 ??
they have a very good web site with catolgues ...

and yes he sells the chinese imports , but has excellent services and can order any parts

Did you find out at what temp the high temp lite comes on........... Cuz a friend has an unsolved temp problem with his 850......... Just curious......I'll tell him about the temp gauge......nice one.

i put the same ones on our 850's as well, they do work well. have ours set in imperial. If you want an acurate reading though you will need to install it on the upper rad not the the lower rad. right now you will be reading heat exchanged coolant not actual engine temp.

Guess I had a brain Fart ...
so now I have to move it ...
just thinking I will put a hose coupler back in its spot..
but what to use as a coupler = plastic - may get to hot ...
= steel - may not be good with antifreeze
= brass - are they available
= what do be proper to use

is the top hose the same size hose`..

i think its the same size, and plastic from any old hardware store is just fine. Plastic will handle 210-250F no prob.

did you take the fender off...

what temps does yours run at ?

i'll get the wife to post some pics a little later of our installation and maybe a short vid of the fan cycling temps so you can see. i checked and the upper and lower hoses are the same size. I pulled the front cab off to gain access to my upper hose.

did you mean the front fender corner ??
also can those plastic screws / pegs be replaced , I broke already ..

hi iam doing the same one on my 09 850 i bought the 25 mm insdia hose size will it work or do i have to make my own pipe addapter thanks tony
