Just putting this out there for sledders to read. I have a 3 person infrared sauna which was purchased through Costco. There approximately $3400. Before buying one I did a lot of research, not many stores sell them either. Make sure there low EMF as well. Great buy. I sit in this thing on 54 deg for 1 hour and feel like a million dollars. Highly recommend one of these as the quality is good, much better than most I’ve looked at

Yeah we use ours a lot too. Still prefer the wood fired one at the lake in -35 though!

I framed in a small sauna area (300 cu.ft.) when I did the basement development last winter. Just purchased a 6kw SS heater with rocks landing on our door step for $1400. 3 hours at $80/hr for the electrician to hook it up. I can buy a lot of 1x6 TG cedar, tin foil reflection covering, and insulation for $1600. That will be my project before Christmas. Heater will be here this week.

I love a sauna (haven't had one since we left the NWT) and it really helps loosen up the muscles, ligaments, and tendons after any type of vigorous exercise. Just love it when the water is dribbled on the hot rocks and the steam comes down upon your shoulders. I am really looking forward to this winter.

Going to have to post some pics of the sauna project. That will be nice to sit in and relax after a good day of sledding.

I saw this post and thought "WTF is an inferred sauna? Is it or isn't it?"

How much power does the infrared use, I'm wondering if I have room left in me electrical panel.
