Inexpensive hard top: Direction 2

As I haul my Wildcat Trail on a sled deck, it was a royal pain to remove / install the soft top every time I want to ride. I started looking for a reasonably priced hard top roof (after all, they're just plastic), and haven't had much success, until now...
While looking in the Royal Distributing catalog, I came across the Direction 2 Inc roof. It was extremely low priced at $160 Cdn, and as I knew I woluld have to modify it a bit to accommodate my down bars, I thought I'd give it a try. I ordered it, got it delivered to my door in 4 days, still under $200 with shipping and tax.
Opened the box, and was pleasantly surprised to see a well thought out mount system, and a roof quality that was beyond what I expected. Even with "adjusting the roof to fit with my down bars and 30" light bar, install only took 1.5 hrs. Looks good, and roof is of the same quality as the Kolpin roof, and less then 1/2 the price. They make this roof for several SXS applications, so if you want a hard top for the same price as a soft top, check em out. Decent quality, and a great price, made in Canada.

Make sure the tie downs are solid. There have been guys losing their roofs while towing. You might want to check it a few times on your first trip. I have their half windshield. Good set up.

I have made several roofs out of 1/4 inch plastic puck board .... A sheet 4x8 is about 90 $ , it makes an awesome roof and tough as nails .... I will make my maverick roof this way . You can heat / shape and cut it to most required sizes quite easy ...
it's easy to paint or wrap it too...
the 1/4 inch adds amazing strength to a stock cage as well....!

Believe it was plastics plus ....? Can't remember , but lots stock the full 1/4 inch sheets

I just picked up an arctic cat trail and would like to build a roof out of some puck board I have.

UFA farm supply carries them here, 1/4" in stock. any thicker has to be ordered in.

Could use self tapping metal screws

Use p clamps to hold the roof on. I wouldn’t drill into the roll cage.

chain link fence clamps work great too. galvanized "P" clamps

The other one would be around $ 100 half the price of a roof on line
