Hearing reports on twitter by shuswapscanner, that there has been a possible death this afternoon at Owlshead, truly hoping that this is not correct and everyone up there today are safe.

Search Rescue and the RCMP were in the parking lot when we came down today, not much was being said about what happened other than that someone had been injured. There was no mention of an avalanche.

SICAMOUS - Vernon Search and Rescue is at the scene of a serious snowmobile accident in Sicamous.Spokesperson for Vernon SAR Leigh Pearson says crews were called out to a report of an injured snowmobiler in the Owlhead area in Sicamous the afternoon of Friday, Jan. 9.
While we have yet to receive confirmation from the B.C. Coroners Service, Pearson says it appears the individual has died.
“Right now we’re trying to, with the coroner’s permission, recover the subject’s remains,” Pearson says. “Our guys in the helicopter are running out of daylight. It’s really touch and go whether we’re going to be able to pull it off.”
The B.C. Ambulance Service also responded to the call and sent its critical care helicopter team.

Living life at the Lake!
Does not sound like an avi. They would generally mention that in the report. Sad and condolences to the family and group.
