The Lamont River Rats will be having our upcoming annual meeting this Dec 4, and we wanted to share an item with S&M members.

Among the topics to be discussed will be the situation that exists throughout our riding areas of unharvested crops, with the poor weather this harvest season. The River Rats are fully supporting land owners who have unharvested crops by asking our members, and their guests, to avoid fields that have standing crops or unharvested swaths on them. If you find yourself in a field that has unharvested crops, please slow down immediately and carefully exit that land, being sure not to damage those crops.

If you are a land owner with downed crops on your field, we would appreciate you notifying the Club as to the location of those areas so we can perhaps compile a list of areas affected near our regular riding areas. You can email this information to melnykfarms@mcsnet.ca

We also ask all our members this season, more than ever, to purchase their ASA trail passes and to place them on your machines. We want to ensure as best we can that our members sleds are not mistaken for other non member riders that may decide not to follow our guidelines for this riding season.

It's always important to respect the land on which we are allowed the privilege to enjoy during the sledding season. Lets make sure we exercise our diligence in ensuring we remain extra vigilant this riding season, as to not damage our relationship with the many land owners who allow us to enjoy our pastime.

The CN shack along the tracks by Allen creek.
Was thinking about this today. It's going to be a issue for a lot of farmers. Poor guys. Hope the sledding community shows that we can be respectful of the current crisis this winter. We don't need anymore bad press.
