If marathon has to build the mini deck for you, ask them if they could put a bit taller legs on it and you could slide you gear underneath.

OP:

i ran a deck on my 1/2 ton crew chev. it was ugly, it was ugly, and it was ugly. lol. but it was a means to an end. i asked on forums of it was possible and nearly every answer was cant do it...illegal etc. not true. and i weighed it to be certain.

all steel deck with 8ft ramp:

as you can see the truck barely squat. it handled it great. all good with one sled a couple jerry cans all your gear.

glad i went against all those who said it was dangerous and that it would be illegal. i was in a pickle...lol. i had JUST moved from gp to fsj (about 2 hours NW) and left all my riding buddies...knew no one in FSJ. so now i was driving alone to meet up with the boys to ride. it worked.

BUT....all that being said.....

NEVER again. if your in a jam...sure. once i went the hd route...night and day. i would never do this again. from the wear and tear on the little gaffer to the inconvenience of that deck. i HATE beaver tails too. from smashin your head to getting dirty (ch!t pilin up on it while drivin only to fall on ya when unloadin/loadin.

its your call.

double heated garage with tools, welder, extras and bed ...

no skiers allowed ...

I will probably be selling my deck if interested..... The ramp may need to repaired/ modified as I built the connection a little to weak but I may have that fixed up this week..... Switching to a trailer now that I'll be hauling the gf's new sled everywhere too

needed to find some turnbuckles that were the right size

havent had a chance to try it out yet tho, as we havent had much snow until last night
we got over a foot or so, so I plan to ride this weekend
