Currently in the same dilemma (But with slightly different circumstances)

Is your deck 5'7" with the tail gate down ? that can't be !!! mine's 7' with the tail gate down and I'm looking at 3 options

1- load it with the tailgate down then put on this truck box extender I got from princess auto (goes in your hitch mount) ($80)

2- get an extension or a new taller tailgate built that makes my deck 8' long and is heavy duty enough to load the sled on (not sure of the cost yet) of course I have a flat deck, your cost might be a bit more if you get a fab shop to build you a new tailgate

3- get a 8' box made, put it on my deck and slide the ramp under ($300-$400)

this is what the old 156 rev looked like on 7' which is most likely acceptable and I would haul the rev around like it.. but i'd like to take a little extra care of the xm :)

with the first 2 options you can have a normal truck bed when not hauling your sled, with the 3rd one you either lose your tailgate or sacrifice space in the bed...

really liking this idea
spoke w Aiden this am at Marathon and well see what he can come up with for me
doesnt 100% solve the storage issue, BUT this is clean, easy to load, ramps and all tuck away when not in use and will do the trick

maybe think about a headache rack and a THULE basket or something on the roof of the truck too?

heres a few more pics of the deck that Marathon posted for me
pretty slick unit id say and for the price, I think its a great idea
ramps are telescpoing and slide under the deck itself (they have a puck board type material on them, but not pictured)
super clamp mounting point in the middle
middle track guide also folds up and tucks away

weight is 120#'s and secured w 4 turnbuckles or can be bolted diretly into the box

here is a 7' deck on a 5'7" bed and a 163 sled.

also remember a 1500 is a 1500, payload does not change with bags and tires. Its based of the GVWR minus the STOCK truck weight.......

thats a good pic
I have a 146, so this mini deck from Marathon at 7ft will work fine, as my sled is 10ft from tip to tail

Aiden from Marathon was telling me they are developing a version of this one in the Truck BOSS series - for mid summer release-ish
priced a bit more than this one, but all the benefits of the TRUCK BOSS set up

placing my order as we speak for this one, excited to have a solution to my "hauling issue" now!! LOL!

they are making decks that are called truckboss now
no more production of the old marathon decks

also found out that they only ever made 25 of these mini decks
I guess they are expensive to make and isnt a huge market for them - which i get for guyes going west A LOT
but for me, its perfect for what i need it for

Regulations on everything, love that setup for a grand you can't go wrong, play stupid and be cordial when dealing with the cops and you'd be amazed how much better you get treated, I tow a camperized heavy sled trailer with 3 sleds, bunks, wood stove and gear plus my truck is only an F250,has a rat pack tool box stuffed to the nines and a 320liter slip tank, my truck also has a 10inch lift, illegally tinted windows, and no mud flaps, I have been pulled over numerous times from Vancouver to fort st john and everywhere in between, never had a fine yet, make sure everything safety wise works and the unit or units are secured adequately, don't drink and drive, and don't be mouthy

keep in mind they weigh the truck without a passenger, no fuel and no spare tire to get the GVWR. Your total payload needs to factor in all these things, not just what you put in the box. Most 1/2 tons are on the bubble for the deck and 2 sleds itself, but once you add your buddy, all your gear, fuel and spare tire you are over by a few hundred pounds. I did the math on mine last year, I would be over by about 300 lbs with 2 sleds on a double deck. Your insurance will be void if you are over your payload also.

I have a single "deck" sitting at home with ramp that's slides under it. Gimme an hour and ill measure the length of it to see if it fits in your truck, .
