7 price of membership, and would the price of membership be on a sliding scale of length of season and amenties
would like to see some feedback and membership prices that you would pay

4 political activisims - to me this is the most important issue our sport faces. Contrary to popular belief it's not Doo vs. Poo, that's a close second.

I'm not a snowmobiler just yet but speaking as an ATVer, I'd probably vote for political activism. I wish the ATV community was as involved as the snomobile community in preservation of our past time.

#4 is so important as on our own we are just cannon fodder for the green, green jellybeans, lazy bureaucrats, other recreation users competing for the same space and anyone else with some authority trying to solve a perceived problem. The cariboo are decreasing in numbers so it must be the snowmobiles scaring them to death not the Bell Jet Rangers, predators or highway kill when they come down from the alpine. Close more area to snowmobiles and that will fix it. There is too much pollution in this valley, ban two stroke snowmobiles as the pollution has nothing to do with the thousands of trucks and cars on the primary highway that already goes through the valley. Close the Blackfoot Snowmobile Trails to all sled traffic as the horse people might want to go for a ride in the winter. We are a convenient target as no one picks on any groups that have huge national associations, lots of money or are undertaking politically correct activities. What we do is no less politically correct or less important than what anyone else does for recreation. Families enjoy sledding in the winter and for some disabled people it is the only way to enjoy the outdoor trails in the winter. After all is said and done and the snow has melted in the spring we did not kill any cariboo, dramatically increase pollution or harm sensitive environmental areas and that story has to be told and the best way to do that is in the numbers that come with membership.

Four for sure is most important. Was an ASA member for a couple years but think this year of joining clubs in revy and McBride instead. Just feel my money is better spent keeping the alpine open as I don't trail ride in Alberta any always private property if at all. Wasn't even enough snow to groom the one trail system I would have used to access the open areas I used to ride last year.

#4 The Voice.
I can't understand how most provinces have 1 recognized provincial Association and in B.C. we struggle with 2.
Because a long time ago #1 and #2 didn't like each other for some reasons we are not privy to. They seem to have never forgotten and continue to pull the entire effort in near opposite directions. There was talk of a joint effort last year, but it seems neither want to give up their position and move forward. So with that we will continue to have less voice in Victoria and more pressure on the network. OK that is enough from me.....I'll digress.

Dusty they are all important. Need trails and areas to ride as well as a voice to keep areas open. Clubs need a good mix of fun and work to much work and members leave but trails need the work to get the fun.
Strong provincial voice with a national connection good.
Club needs a vision for the future. If they dont care about whats going on around them they wont get to far.
Need a base to call home. Place to focus their interest. Clubhouse,trail riding area

Absolutely "Having a voice" Being a positive pressence. It is a tough sell for those with the mentality.. "I don't ride groomed trails, I ain't buying no stinkin Membership" or "I've been riding these mountains since I was a kid, no club is gonna tell me I have to pay to do it" etc......

How do we sell a mentality if people are stuck in the idea that it is them against their local club, let alone impart upon them the idea that we all need to be a powerful force, uniting together to keep areas open, and promote our sport in a positive way? Free hotdogs.... that seems to be the key..... free hot dogs... and beer at meetings.. I have personally purchased beer for the meetings lol. Great peeps are in every community. I'm going to work harder this year to boost the "strength in numbers" mentality.. even if it costs me a few cases of wonderful cold delicious frosty nummy beer...........





Who wants to join the Nelson SnoGoers now?.......... Great Club.... We'll be offering up Avalanche Training, special retail incentives... AWESOME events which include the Meteor Mine Hillclimb...... Perhaps a Calendar, Local Community support for organizations and events, Uniting with other Clubs like the Kokanee Country Snowmobile Club, Slocan Valley Snowmobile Club, and other clubs for events, challenges (hot dog dash anyone?) I'm just going to update the brochure this week. It's a new time filled with renewed passion for the sport I figure. We are on the right path.. just gotta keep on keepin on.

That is exactly it Trish. What we have been working on as a club for the last year is getting out there and communicating to people how incredibly important it is to join the club. The only thing keeping our riding areas open is the hard work put in by volunteers. The more members these people represent, the louder thier voice is.

I think one SUPER important thing we need to do is unite the BCSF and ABCSC. We cant have two. We are both trying to do the same thing so the past HAS to be forgotten, and we all NEED to work together.

None are important in Northern BC, There isnt an opposition so no need for a "voice", they are for families that want to get a wienie roast together on the lake with new to town flat landers. And old people with electric start. Its 50 years away if it will ever be needed in my neck of the woods.
