i'm all giddy for the summer now.... dammit!
i cant stand the cord/external unit combo the VIO has, its definitely off my list as its just too cumbersomeYeah I was looking at this cam too, looks like a slick unit. Can anyone on here confirm this?
Also looking at the vio, not really to excited about a cable....

plus, seeing the big go pro camera mounted on the top of someone's helmet reminds me of the days when I tried to build my own helmetcam by taping an 8mm video camera to my helmet....I got the pov.hd, awesome camera. seen more than one thread of people looking for their lost go pros or contours after a crash or tree branch wiping them off.

ya, the pov is the only TRUE hd helmetcam. go pro and contour expand the video to hd dimensions for playback. pov has an actual texas instruments hd processor built in. the only one that does. That was the other way I was looking at going.....
POV has the highest quailty HD.
Maybe a guy could put the brains in a steering post bag and then bar mount the lense.... do you think that would work TeeRoy?
Where did you buy yours from? Online?
the POV is over double the price though :Sya, the pov is the only TRUE hd helmetcam. go pro and contour expand the video to hd dimensions for playback. pov has an actual texas instruments hd processor built in. the only one that does.
I tuck the recording unit into my front chest pocket of my coat, I think you would need the longer cable to run it in a bag on the sled. vio doesn't reccommend using the cable extender on the HD units, i guess it degrades video.
I got mine from Matt at Launch Helmetcams. awesome guys to deal with, and got a good price. they are a vendor here
Look at the Drift hd170 , i have one and love it. Vids look great too , seems to be better than my bud,s go pro too.
Drift Innovation Home of the HD170 Stealth and X170 Action Sports Camera
Do like Woody up there, hows the video, sound, where do you have it mounted etc etc
i really want the best bang for the buck
i cant find a store, in my 10 seconds of searching that would have all of these in stock so i could compare them all
