If you do lost of mud riding where you are getting stuck try winching a little more. I ride with a couple guys who ride polaris. They say that if you are always giving high throttle when your tires arent turning you will burn the belt out because the clutch is turning against the belt even though your machine is not moving. Also make sure that the intake for the belt breather is not plugged ( if there is one on a polaris, I'm not sure) which may cause the belt to overheat and wear prematurely. Hope this helps.

Generally as a rule your not supposed to spin your tires at top speed in any direction as it will cause damage. That is amplified if your running mud lites or some other type of tire with larger paddles. Sounds like your on the right track.

Haven't seen a polaris yet that loves to eat belts......If your not eating belts then you don't run mud as hard as some of us (I know some polaris owners will chime in ;) ) Low gear Low gear low gear hit everything in low climbing, mud running ,bouncing logs more techincal stuff use low gear and for the trails use high. My grizz I constantly use low it have it timed so well I can shift back and forth from H to L without stopping and without any grinding, and trust me I beat the crap outta it with over 5000K on the orignal belt.....maybe its time to changed it:d:beer:

I agree with this, put it in low when your hitting the mud or any steep hills, your belt will last allot longer.
