:xmas-smiley-005: I have never had the pleasure of owning a sled right out of the box...but am deeply considering it currently. problem is, I have some questions about the prey I am stalking. I am wanting 07/Summit/800-X/151, but being this late in the game what I am finding is that...i'm not finding any!. that being said, what I have been able to find is the Adrenaline package. Lookin' for feedback from anyone on comparisons of the two, purchase tips and pricing etc. I know, I know, I should have snow-checked one last spring, then I wouldn't have to be typing this. Any words of wisdom are appreciated. thanks in advance

I debated the samething a month ago, then when I compared the the two sleds I couldn't justify the extra dollars. I bought the 07/sum/adr//800R/151 and so far I quite like it. I'm not sure yet what to think about the engine, to me it feels like it doesn't have the balls my 800HO had; but I'm waiting until I get a few more miles on it to see if it improves once it's broke in, but the same engine comes in both sleds, so never mind. Back to the topic, I really don't think I would be any happier with an X package. Yes, there are differences but how many are performance differences outside of 10 lbs unless you are an extreme highmarker (which i'm not) or a racer I doubt you will notice after your first ride. Here are a few differences off the top of my head, don't quote me I am often wrong, decals, better shocks, slightly different bars, a braded brake line, clear fuel tank, lower windshield, and a different track and from what I have been hearing some guy's are complaining about the light weight challanger track, something about it being to stiff, not really sure I shouldn't say to much. Don't get me wrong the X sled rocks but good luck finding one now. I think that if you can find a 07/sum/adr//800R/151 then snap it up before somebody else does. Either sled is going to make it hard for you to wipe the grin of your face at the end of a hard days riding and that's the only thing that matters. I don't think you will miss the differences between the two sleds when you get on the hill, besides over time most of those things can be done as mods; I like that, it give's me something to do with my sled in the off season. That's just my two sence!!! Good Luck!

Re: Adrenaline

THE IDEA OF BEING ABLE TO ADD MODS TO ANY SLED, IS IDEAL FOR THE AVERAGE SLEDDER. MOST DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE SLEDS ARE SIMPLE BOLT-ONS.... I WOULD DEFINATELY BE CHASING ONE OF THE 800'S AT RIVERSIDE, OR WHEREVER YOU CAN FIND ONE.... I WAS LOOKING FOR AN 800 AT ONE TIME, BUT THERE BASICALLY WAS NONE TO BE HAD, SO I SETTLED FOR A LITTLE '06 1LITRE(LAST ONE IN WESTERN CANADA). GO FOR IT, AND ENJOY IT.... YOU KNOW YOU WILL!!!:Happy6:

compared 151 07/sum/800r/x and 159 800 x-rs for throwing the sled around 151 is way perfered, more snap on 159 different clutch. didn't find alot of really deep snow or big hill to try. you may try phone different dealers as they have about 4-5 brp reps covering west canada. two different reps cover edmonton 1 west 1 east kinda of. 3 covers revy 4th covers golden etc.
happy hunting let me know if you find two.

Previous replies pretty well sum up our experiences. Clutching is the key, new 800R is a peaky little devil compared to our old reliable 800 HO. Ecko Marine in Alberta Beach had 2 left yesterday when I was there picking up a new windshield for the wife's 600. Don't ask.

Later.

Don't ask

(when they say "don't ask", it's like an invitation that they want to tell you!)

New Doo issue

thanks for the info everyone, much appreciated. I have heard a couple of negative reports about the 800R motors but nothing specific other than one reference to the crank having balance issues??. any truth to those?. Either way, I will either post a sad or happy thread in the near future. And yes I think we'd all like to hear about the 'windshield' incident mister old-timer!!

Apparently what I meant to say was " I need a 'blue' Doo. The bullet has been bitten and I will be picking her up on monday. With any luck will be making maiden voyage to Revy in a week. So now that I have parted with my money(and some of the bank's),any guidance or tips in terms of 'break-in' are most welcome. Sled particulars are 07, 800R, 151, and as mentioned earlier-blue!. giddy-up time!!:Snowmobile1: :Snowmobile1:

Break-in

WAS TOLD BY MY DEALER THAT TO BREAK-IN THE "BLUE" MONSTER(1000) THAT YOU HAVE TO RUN THE BREAK-IN OIL IN 5 GALLONS OF GAS FOR FIRST BIT AND THEN, JUST NORMAL HIGH TEST FUEL. THEY SAID TAKE IT A LITTLE EASY UNTIL THE LIMITER CHIP BURNS OUT(ABOUT 10 HOURS) AND ENJOY... THEY SAID DON'T BE TOO GENTLE ON THE ENGINE, AS IT NEEDS TO GET HOT AND STRESS RELIEF INTERNALLY AS NEEDED. MY CHIP JUST BURNT OUT ON THE LAST TRIP COMING DOWN FROM LUCILLE.... SEEMED TO GO NUTS THEN. ENJOY THE NEW "BLUE" BULLET.:Snowmobile1:

OK here goes. I have an 04 800 144 Summit and love the thing. Wife has an 03 600 144 Summit. Whats the problem you ask? When we go riding, see likes the 800 way better so thats what she rides and I ride the 600. We understand don't we guys. We are a couple of 60+ white hairs who ride conservatively and rarely do any damage to the sleds. Along comes the 18 year old grandson, "come on Grandpa, lets go riding". His sled is in Revelstoke with his dad and Grandma says "you and Grandpa go ahead, you can ride my sled". Uh huh. Now you have 2 MX racers on sleds, the hormones over rule the brain and that little ^&*(% isn't going to pass me. He lost. I didn't see the get off as I was ahead but the results were a shattered windshield and severly mangled hood. Twice. The groomed trails around Whitecourt are pretty good this year and the speeds get serious. 80+ MPH on a regular basis. Upside down in the trees = money spent at your friendly neighborhood dealer. Sooooo, if you want a new windshield, hood, handlebars etc for a sled, lend it to your grandson, then go fast enough all day to ensure he will at some time be upside down. Bonus is-------Damn that was fun.

On another topic (Quads) the same grandson and I ran a 3.5 hour endurance race at Devils Lake on Sunday. Team race, 2, 3, or 4 members per team, studded up MX, sport quads and 2 fools on unstudded utility quads (guess who). Had a blast, didn't finish last.
