i dont get it. everyone thats putting there sleds away..

go to the mountains?

alberta always sucks for sledding even when the snow is good.

if you have time to ride your sled at home you can get to the mountains can you not

Well $$ do come into play. If I can ride from my back yard and not have to pay for fuel in the truck accomodations and food once out there it works out better for me in the long run. Not against going to the mountains just not something that some can do every weekend.

It's been an ok year here, not great by any means tho, nothing like we were hoping... only at half the depth we had last year and the lower elevations are melting fast... gonna be an early summer for sure. We did have a good time at MM3 in Revy tho, managed to find untracked every day up there too:D

I think we have about another 4-6 weeks of decent mountain riding here at home b4 it will be time to put them away for good:):(

Why not hit up someone for a ride to the mountains? Has to to be lots of peeps from St.Albert going west with a spot on the trailer. If you lived here I would take you. Sorry that's no consellation prize I know, but there are lots of good peeps on this site.

thanks, im only 14 though. what adult that can drive would want to take a 14 year old sledding? I went to the mountains for my 1st time this year. it was perty good. my family wanted to go on a ski trip so my sisters boy friend and me brought our sleds.

oww and about the lake when I was in the mountains I broke through, good thing I was flat out across it. the 2nd time I was on a lake in AB. I was going about 60 mph. when I hit open water I put the throttle to the bar and leaned to the side and I turned around prety fast. it kinda felt like boondocking at high speed. and yea the sled made it without any damage.

It ain't about age....its about having fun. I'll take anyone of any age. so long as they want to have some fun and enjoy themselves, that's all I care about. I was involved with Big Brothers for years and took my little "brother" to lots of things, he was only 11 when I first knew him, we went go karting, etc etc. I think people should be given as many opportunities in life as possible. I take my 5 yr old nephew and 3 yr old niece out for long quad rides. It ain't all about going fast and climbing hills. I love pulling up beside someone and seeing a huge smile under their helmet.

Never let age get in your way. I would suggest finding out who among your family or friends sleds and then seeing if they would take you. Go with someone you trust. What about your sister's b/f?

yea his name is Matt, he has tought me alought. I used to have my sled at his house and go every once in a while. there was lots of fun times spent there. I cant go anymore becuase the river isnt frozen. and I have a few sledding buddies but they all sled localy. Matt and some of his freinds are 19/18 but we get along fine. my sister somtimes gets mad when im over there becuse she says that he is not even my friend, but what ever SLEDDING AND DIRT BIKING IS MY ADICTION. the best part about it is when your sledding your not thinking about homework or family issues, your thinking about sledding and thats it.

If you don't mind ridin with a 10 year old, always room in the trailer. Me and buddy, and my boy...... thats usually the ones that go together. Keep in touch, always room and your more than welcome, as long as your parents don't mind! Age means nothing. I'm only thirty, but have rode many bluebird days with guys double my age and had nothing but laughs and memories!

Andre, i know how ya feel! ive never been allowed to ride in the mountains, and i can be there in 2.5 hours like my friends every weekend. but no. im 17, and the parents are quite particular. i have never done anything to worry them, am very responsible but still not allowed because of avalenches and all that. i try to explain my freinds just play in the medows and stuff, but no luck. however the father finally said he would take me and were on spring break in a few days so might have some luck. just hopefully ;)

Yeah, all you's guys who says winter's over, yer darn right.it sucks and will every year from now on,as far as ridin' in the hills, well that sucks to,either goin' up or goin' down,no fun flat spots to really open 'er up.and when the snow's deep, well that really sucks,(frickin' stuck again)we all know we never get huge dumps in March,April or May,so,wanna' sell yer 800 154/163 sled?i'd take that heavy, pain in the arse off your hands!!Your welcome.;)

It's good to see a young guy who has an interest in something that keeps him out of trouble. You'd think your parents would be more supportive of a kid like you who is just lookin to have some healthy fun. Tell ya what....go out and steal a stereo out of someone's truck and then tell your Dad he should be more supportive of your interests so you don't keep getting into trouble. (Just Kiddin) ;)
I gotta say "Good on You" Switchbackfst and Modman for offering to take Andre out with you. Great gesture that could make a huge difference in a young man's world.
I have 2 teen boys whose interests I support whole heartedly. As a parent you have to do that or who knows what kind of Crap they'll wind up involved in.
