I agree that respect for private property is paramount, but.....

You should have written the notice for them.

What's the problem??

It's their land, they are granting snowmobiles access and being quite clear about requesting respect for their property.

They are stating that if these guidelines are broken by disrespectful sledder's, then access will be denied in the future.

I looked into their tenure claims 2 years ago. I called the government dept responsible for maps of BC and got the latest for that area sent to me. According to that map Powder King does have rights to the area all the way over to the survival cabin on the powerline at the edge of the Pine. They do not have rights to the area all the way over to the Bijoux Trail though, as they have been claiming (and are still claiming in this notice). Their rights end just south of Azu. It's hard to tell on the map, but I would say less than 1/2 km on the Bijoux side of Azu. Just an FYI if you're playing on the pipeline or in the trees over there, they cannot kick you out as they have tried to do to some sledders in the past.

I know that they have had a lot of trouble with sledders who just have to run up the side of the mountain just along the highway where some of the more advances skiers often ski out. It's a major safety concern. Also, ripping thru the public parking lot to get to the pipeline is an issue. Powder King management recognizes that sledders could be a major source of income for them accommodation and food-wise, as well as put on a friendly business front to all... and they are trying to foster that relationship without compromising skier safety or ending up with a lawsuit. I don't envy their position... In the recent past there have been quite a few sledders who just blow thru there and sled up the outlying runs without thought and it makes the rest of us look bad. The wording of the agreement as posted may be lacking some finesse, but I don't think the intention was to offend or debase anyone...

Last year we stayed in one of the cabins at PK. We were sledding on some designated trails making our way to the pipeline to leave the resort when we got yanked over and dressed down by an over zealous and misinformed employee who told us we were sledding on a cross country ski run built for families and how would we feel if we ran someone over. He led us (on the road on our sleds) up to the main parking lot and lodge (I still don't know why) and the owner of PK came out when he heard our sleds. The employee started to relay what azzhats we were and the owner stopped him cold, let us tell our side, apologized profusely and wished us a safe day of happy sledding. In no way did he come off as a sled-hater and he did explain that they are working hard to create a safe atmosphere where the skiers and sledders can both come and play.

I agree 100%. If you show respect and act like a human we have never had any issues. We have family who own a cabin there who sled and ski a ton out there every year. Never any issues at all just use respect and look out for skiers, they have the right of way. Any of our interactions with the powder king management have been great! There is always some who feel the need to cause issues by ripping up the ski runs etc etc and they will ruin it for everyone. At the end of the day it is a ski resort, if everyone shows a little respect for each other it can be a great place for everyone to enjoy!

The only contact i had with them was 11 years back, they even came over with their groomer and groomed a trail so we could ride the gas line. The powder was so deep. Great guys at least back then.
