Husky/Mohawk Gas

i know alot of guys don't like to use Mohawk/Husky gas because of the ethanol,as do i.I believe Husky has 94 octane dunno if has ethanol or not.Gonna be coming up that way in Feb. and i only run premium in the Pro RMK Assault.Curious if anyone has used the gas in the Pro and if they had any issue's with performance,or did u have to switch that plug over from premium to ethanol.Hate to bring a box full of gas cans from here...Thanks

the Husky at Mcbride has dyed premium. If memory serves me correctly no ethanol in the dyed premium. That's what I use in my 07 M1000. haven't had any issues.

ya Husky in Mcbride has marked premium. Has no ethanol. Has its own pump and is cheaper then regular too.

When I purchased my 2009 RMK 600 it came stock with the ethanol plug in it. I have always run ethanol in the sled and have had no reason to change the plug. Always run premium octane as well. I have the non-ethanol plug if it is ever needed. I was under the impression that the plug should determine what type of fuel was used.

All clear gas now has ethanol in it. Just differing amounts of it. Right at the pump it even states that may contain up to 10% ethanol. The marked fuel isnt supposed to have any ethanol. For me the ethanol isnt the biggest thing tho, it's the fact that i know that the husky here in mcbride goes thru ALOT of the marked premium so when you go up to the pump and fuel your sled up you know for certain that you are getting fresh gas. Its the fuel we've ran in all our rentals for 2years now and not a single issue. And marked premium is cheaper than clear regular because you dont pay any of the road taxes.

Sorry Lexy I have say that you are wrong. Glen is right. Most if not all clear gas contain ethanol. like he said the pump states that in may contain up 10% ethanol. If it doesn't state it on the pump doesn't mean that it doesn't contain ethanol. As for the dyed fuel I am not 100% certain that it don't contain ethanol but that is what I was told when I was doing my research of fuels.

But that with the marked fuel's they dren't suppose to conatin any eyhanol. They dont like to say that it doesn't contain any because the odd time it might end with a tiny fraction of it, but as a rule they say there isnt supposed to be any in the marked fuels. That being said any husky can bring in marked premium and anyone can but it, you dont have to have a special card or anything like that in order to buy marked fuel.

Thanks Glen I already knew about the ethanol in the clear fuel. Wasn't 100% sure on the Dyed. my memory isn't that good any more. LOL. I wish Alberta would follow BC's policy of allowing off hyway vehicles to burn dyed fuel.

You cant run dyed fuel in recreation vehicles in alberta?? What they actually call the marked premium is "boat gas".

Out here Shell premium is clearly marked on the pump as NOT containing any ethanol.

I talked to a Husky rep and he said they took out all the ethanol from premium two summers ago as it cost more to refine with ethanol......

Not sure what the price is on diesel but i know the marked premium is only like 1.18/L

1.36 for diesel.
