Ya I was in my third year and he was in his first.

Got my cow moose this morning, my new record for fastest bow kill. Walked 20 minutes down the cut line on my first day out and there she was. Smallest of the group of four but she was at only 30 yards so I stuck an arrow in her. Rut is on, bull was grunting pretty steady but out in the open and about 150 yards away, no way to get past the cows. Limited time to hunt this year so I nailed what was handy. Dressed at about 375-400.
Antelope hunt was a bust in September, with a 50-60% winter kill the pickings were slim. Biggest herd was 23, most were only 6-8. Had a few bucks charge in to range but shot high twice, windy but oppotunity was there a couple of times. Oh well, still was fun. Had lots carge to about 100 yards and hold up to check out the decoy then head back to the does. Challenging bucks with the decoy was a hoot! Awsome scenery with the Montana Sweetgrass Mountains in the background. Checked out Writing on Stone Park, probably head there next summer with family. Season off to a good start, now for some white tails at the farm.

You can't beat antelope chops in my book. Ya there isn't as much meat there as a moose but it is damn tasty.

Got my late season moose draw in 353, and our group already took a bull out of there last week with an early season draw. Also got a whitetail tag and a bull elk tag but haven't filled em yet
