is that the way it's supposed to be mounted? Mine seems to flop around easily. It also seems like the end of the pipe is contacting the inside of the cans pipe, not really sitting tight on the donut?

I have not noticed any play. When I installed it, I had to push the pipe forward, push the can into the belly pan, then bring the pipe back and hook up the springs. It is a snug fit.

Maybe I'll try a stiffer spring than the one I used. It was snug getting it mounted, but after the springs were attached I could move the can back and forth. I went on hps website and the pics they have show the toe hold spring bracket, relocated to the chaincase.
