how to tell what size of track your sled has?

hello i bought a 2000 summit 700 2 years ago and the guy said it had been stretched to a 151 but it doesn't look like a 151 to me. how would i measure the actual length of it?

They have a part number on them. Usually close to where it says camoplast mountain on the outside middle between lugs. It would be something like 9916M for example. Get that and call the parts guy at the dealership and have him tell you what it is.

I agree with cuting it in half, you well get a much more accurate measurement, than just have the old lady stich it back up for ya!

ok so now i know my track is a 150 3/4" length. how the heck do i put it back together now?
i was thinking some fencing staples withe the backs bent over to the outside of the track.
has any one ever done this? how did it work? how many staples did you use?

duct tape, tie wire and super glue........it'll never break then

You can go to UFA and buy some horse matt, it comes in different thickness. Get the 1/4" thick stuff and cut two strips 15" long by about 3" wide. You can then glue the two strips together (one on either side of the track) and to make sure it realy holds, rivit it. Make sure you use washers though, you don't want those rivits pulling through.:cool:
