:confused:Just spent about a day trying to prep my E-TEC 600 (2010) for summer. I've gone to the dealer and got a quick HOW TO....gech! The advertising and owners manual states that you can prep the machine for summer. Can't seem to get it to work. The dealer says that the info is wrong and sent me the same instructions as in the book...just some slight changes but the same info. This is frustrating ...do you have to throw pixy dust at it! The mechanic at the dealer showed me how he does it, start engine...let it warm up, make sure the display is on mileage, hit the reset button and quickly depress the high beem and low beem and you should then see "Push S" come up...can't get to this point. It was hit and miss with the mechanic also. What are the steps to summerize the E-Tec 600?

Engine StorageMode

600 HO E-TEC Engines
Like other engines, the 600 HO E-TEC
has to be properly lubricated at storage
for internal parts protection. The
E-TEC system offers a built-in engine
lubrication function can be initiated by
the operator.

To engage procedure, do the following:

1. Place the vehicle in awell ventilated
area.

2. Start the engine and let it run at idle
speed until it reaches its operating
temperature (watch the coolant
temperature on the display).

3. Push the SET (S) button to select
odometer mode.

NOTE: The storage mode does not
function in other modes (trip A, trip B
and hr trip).

4. Press and hold the SET (S) button
and simultaneously depress the
HI/LOW beam switch repeatedly
several times.

5. Release switch and button when
PUSH S appears in the display.

6. Again, press and hold the SET (S)
button 2 - 3 seconds.

7. When OIL appears in display, release
the button and wait the end
of the procedure.

The engine lubrication procedure takes
approximately 1 minute. During this
time the engine RPM will increase
slightly.

At the end of engine lubrication procedure,
the ECM will turn the engine off.

Remove tether cord.

NOTICE Do not start the engine
during storage period.

I follow those instructions and they work once it is warmed up to operating temperature or it won't. Thought it didn't work and I was suprised how long it takes to warm up.
