From the few posts on other sites I have seen where people have talked about spray foaming the underside of the trailer it does help. The trick seems to be in finding someone to do it.

for those of you with heaters..

if you leave it on ALL night vents open....is everything dry in the AM including floors, rooof?

how many running heat without insulation? does it work?

my trailer gets docked at the garage every night and i plan to just throw a big electric heater inside overnight...maybe 2

Discovered that insulated trailer is a must.
35000 btu furnace running for hours still will not melt floor but sleds are mostly done (-20)
It is a waste of time to run heat all night
Heater is very good for .......... working on sled, changing, having some refreshments after riding.

I've rode with jrusher and even had the pleasure of using his trailer and I was really surprised that everthing is dry! He even drys his gear. Its insulated (floor too) vents open a inch. The biggest thing I think is his fan on the floor moving the warm air around I think is the key. There isn't a drop of water in his trailer in the morning and more often than not he is one of the last off the hill!

I think you would need a REALLY BIG electric heater to do anything compared to a force air gas unit.

This season i bought a small squirrel cage type fan from princess auto put that on the floor crack the vents couple hours later sleds and trailer floor are almost 100% dry.. Also drilled a few holes in floor to help with draining..

I also spray foam insulated floor this season which has helped alot.. I have the guys card if anyones interested $650 to do my 4 place featherlite :d and hes in south Edmonton great guy and awesome price!!

If you have time could you send me his Name and Phone#. I always have customers looking to insulate there floors. Did you seal your floor prior to insulating it or is the insulation resistant to water and seals it from below?

Thanks:beer:

I was thinking of pulling the insulating strip off of the bottom of the rear door to let the water drain out. Then just re-install it prior to travelling home. Our trailer is a combo trailer so it slopes down at the rear that helps some and the just jack up the front end to help a little extra. Going to try it on our first trip out, if i ever get there. Heres hoping to the first week in April
